Hi Which button remote or receiver?? Very odd that both boxes have the same problem. Have you recently loaded same patch to both boxes?? Try to reload the patch and see if it works. Over the years i have come across patches that do weird and wonderful things to receivers. It could also be a problem with remote.
    Regards.

Hi. Have the receivers been patched?? I take it that you can go into menus as you have done a factory reset. Do you get an error code flashing . As same problem is happening to both boxes did you change anything or installed anything?? Are you able to watch any channels as you have said that there is only a problem with putting them on standby. Also do you get a response when pressing the channels up and down buttons??

    Regards.

Hi the boxes have been patched in the past and i cannot remember when and which darkman patch was used. The problem has been with me for a length of time. I can use the boxes ok for viewing normal channels and menus ok. I get the normal red led for up or down channels but as said unable to enter diagnostic mode. Could both problems be related to a patch applied in the past and if so is there a firmware download avail to return to manufacture setup. Regards.

i.To find out what patch you have you need to enter MENU -
SYSTEM IFORMATION . Under S/W (software) it will tell you what patch and date it was installed. Then you can check if it is the latest by looking in the download centre in this forum in TM section. As regards the diagnostics mode i dont think there is one. I have a TM5400 SUPER and have never seen one. Have you used this diagnostics mode before and why do you need to use it??? It seems to me that as you are able to watch channels and go into menus there is not a lot wrong with your boxes. If you think that you need to restore original firmware then you may have to go to the TM website and download form there using RS232 cables.

    Regards.

There is a diagnostic mode on TM1500.
    Should be used with caution.

if you release the standby on/off button and the channel up button together then re -press them together the diagnostic screen should come up.
all downloads best with "firefox" & opened with"7-zip".
