(It might just work after a factory reset, but these are the steps I did and no more installation screen after it has been powered off)

To overcome this, do the following:

1.do a factory reset,
2.rescan all the channels,
3.turn the emu on, the key lock on, and the menu lock if you want (0000)
4.deleted all channels before BBC1,left the epg channel
5.Formatted the hard drive
6.switch box on and off to see if it has worked.
A couple of questions,

Does the above procedure correct the installation screen problem when coming out of standby, or after a reboot?

Coming out of standby is a minor niggle as you can get out of it as doomed pointed out by pressing the OK and Exit keys. However, after a reboot all the channel data is gone and the box has to be rescanned and initialised completely, loading a channel file from the HDD doesn't work either as after this is burned the box reboots, CATCH 22!! I've performed steps 1,2 and 3 but not 4-6. It does however receive all channels OK though until you reboot. Is the above the same situation others are experiencing?

Second question, is there any windows channel editing software like there used to be for the old channel data files, as the old softwre doesnt recognise the new files, obviously a different format, partly due to the additional favourite groups?

Thanks guys

Scott

P.S. One final thing, what's meant by "deleted all channels before BBC1,left the epg channel" Which channels are we talking about exactly and how do I know which is the epg channel? Sorry if I'm being a bit slow on the uptake! Also, is the formatting of the HDD essential, I'd rather not do this unless absolutely necessary as I have a lot of recorded programs which I could move off temporarily, just a bit of a ball ache if not essential.

Thanks again for your help

Ok m8 I'll try and answer all your questions, ,

Does the above procedure correct the installation screen problem when coming out of standby, or after a reboot?

Both m8, you will not see the installation screen ever again if you do as I did, just follow everything, see if it works without formatting your hard drive, these are just the steps I took and it worked, fluke more than anything.
You will not need to rescan every time you switch it on ok.

The channel editor does not work with this version of firmware, the guy that does make the editor is working on a copy that does work with this firmware, but as yet he has not released it to the public, I'm hoping he will do, as it's a brilliant program, I'm sure he is also adding the SV4 to work with the new editor, thats all I know m8 at this time, if he tells us anymore I'll let you know.

Go to BBC1 b4 this there is an epg channel keep that, everything that is b4 that just delete it, BT services etc I'm sure it is, there about 10 of them.
Not sure if this needed but as I said above it's what I did and I've not been bothered with the installation menu since.
HTH

Forgot to add make sure you turn the key lock on, emu on, and the menu lock if you can be bothered typing in 0000 all the time.

No probs glad it worked for you.
Did you have to delete/format your hard drive?

Hi
Please can you help me with ref to the above fix.
When I go to the linked site and attempt to download it goes onto a 'Windows Page' about opening files etc like Winzip and if you click on the link it takes you off to a site trying to sell you software....all I want is to fix my PVR.
Thanks inadvance
