Default The box super usb intermittent 8882 error

Firstly hello to everyone and big thanks in advance for any help or advice which you may be able to provide...

I have had my box for around 6months with no problems at all, not updated the firmware which is/was ver 1.7 a not needed to do anything really apart from the odd rescan.

I have a splitter an two boxs running (superbox & VM subscription box).

When powering both boxs and tv on simultaneously my superbox sometimes becomes stuck on 8882 an wont boot to the white logo screen. I used to just switch on and off an after a couple of goes it will fire up and all will be ok.

However this problem is happening everytime i switch it on and takes a hell of a lot of switching on and off to get it working.
I have researched the problem all over the net and found a lot of useful guides to recovering the box if it does decide to finally call it a day, although none of them problems i read about seem intermittent.
Im wondering if anybody knows what the problem may be with it? is it software or hardware?
I have just managed to update the firmware to v1.12 and it is running ok as i write although im very reluctant to switch the thing off now not least because my knees are sore from leaning behind the tv switching the power onand off for about 20minutes!!!!!
    Any ideas much appreciated??

    HI BOOMER,
THE PROB SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BOOTING SEQUENCE AS IT IS STILL DOING IT SINCE I UPGRADED THE FIRMWARE AT WEEKEND.. I HAVENT TRIED IT SINCE ON ITS OWN WITHOUT THE SPLITTER SO I'LL GIVE IT A GO LATER ON..
ANY OTHER IDEAS? DO U KNOW HOW THESE THINGS BOOT AND IF AND HARDWARE BITS MAY/MAY NOT NEED REPLACING?
SAYING THAT I MAY AS WELL JUST LEAVE IT ON NOW UNTIL THE DREADED N3 COMES ROUND OUR AREA ANYWAYS LOL
