You need to get something like this below.

Then you take cable from your stb and put it to the IN of the splitter, then make a new patch lead from one of the OUT back to your stb and another patch lead to your other/new stb

Yes and 4 f type connectors, one of the patch leads only has to be short, it just has to go back to your original stb, so maybees 8 to 10 inches, the other patch lead/extension to other room will be as long as you need it.

OK, have it setup as you said... SB into IN on splitter, patch lead back to SB, and cable from splitter running upstairs to 2nd SB Box, but still not workin.... The sky cable i'm using has 2 seperate leads... Do they both have to be in the splitter at the same time to work ?

Try it this way.
Put the main cable feed into the (in) on the splitter.
Then run one cable to you first box from the (out) on the splitter.
Then run another cable from the other (out) on the splitter to the other box.

That's exactly how i've got it... the sky cable is in two bits tho... not got any more outs left in the splitter to put the extra one in... Have you ever come across this b4 ? Sky cabling in two ?? Or do i need a 3 way splitter ?

One of them sky cables will be coming from the dish, I take it the other is going to other room, have you tried swapping them on the splitter? or can you bell out/check continuity between the 2 cables and other room to see if there is still continuity there, maybees its been chopped somewhere else, can you not just run new cable between slitter and second stb?
