Hi All,

I am a long time Starview user and although this is my first post it isnt a troll or spoof thread.

I have simply joined the forum as i cannot find anything out about this other than what i have just been told.

Basically, I know a Virgin engineer (and trust me they are the worst for 'freeviewing').... anyway he has just informed me that in February Virgin are bringing out 'something' brand new to block all boxes. I asked him to explain further but he said he doesnt know anything else and simply just what rumours going around Virigin at the minute.

Has anybody else heard any such rumours or is he just feeding me a load of bull ?

I assume he's talking about Nagra 3, an upgraded encryption method, it was rolled out in Ireland last August, and in the Leeds area of the UK in December.

So basically, yes, he's telling you the truth.

Thats bummer. I have now been reading up on Nagra 3 - Uncrackable and coming to the Midlands in a few weeks.

Well it hit Poole and Bournemouth Thursday morning, can only get a few basic Channels less than Freeview!! There MUST and WILL be a way to crack it!!! Eventually!

They dont have the capacity to kill all boxes in Feb alone... considering most of the uk is still up and only ireland and leeds went N3... ffs I wouldnt be surprised if it took them till next year to make only half the uk N3

This is only a rumor so far and will stay that way until confirmed but possibly a great news for all of us in North America.

It appears that the cracking of Nagra 3 is finally making headway. The information below actually lists the channels which have been opened and give great detail of how it is being worked on. Rather than just rumors...it appears to be delivering the kind of facts we have all been waiting for. The read may prove a wee bit difficult but I am sure you will get the gist of what it is saying. All codes contained in the post are only relevant to Europe.
Most importantly it does look more positive that we may be on our way to decryption of Nagra 3. Pay particular attention to the very last sentence as this is what we have been waiting to hear.
