THIS IS FOR LAN 1214 BOX

DO NOT LOAD THIS FILE ON A NON LAN BOX OR IT WILL KILL YOUR BOX YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!

NON LAN BOX IS THE BOX THAT DOES NOT HAVE A RS232 CONNECTOR ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT THIS WAS THE FIRST BATCH OF 500 SOLD !!!!

Load grooverider file on to your usb memory stick, make sure power is off on machine and insert the memory stick into the front usb socket
    underneath the front flap.

    Turn the HD Combo on.

From the main menu go to Utility and then press the right arrow button and select usb
from the right hand side, you will see the grooverider file press ok on it and make sure to select SW+ALL DATA UPDATE..

the machine will update and restart (don't pull your memory stick out until the machine has fully started up)
you now need to scan your channels,
so go to installation press the right arrow button again and go down to AUTO CABLE SEARCH
all you need to change here is the symbol rate.
The symbol rate determines your area for example ntl is 6887, the other numbers are 6952 for telecast and EXc&w.
When you have selected your area go to start scan.

once the scan has finished go to menu then highlight accessory and on the remote press the numbers "8989"
you will then see "keyedit" appear on the right hand side, go to it and press ok and just check that auto update is on if its off just turn it on.

Then go to to your channels by exiting the menu and pressing ok..
Select a non FTA channel and leave it until a picture appears
PLEASE NOTE IT CAN TAKE UPTO 5 MINUTES TO UPDATE

    Channel list..

all your channels are categorised by
pressing ok on your remote brings up the channel list but it will be in simple layout,
pressing the red button takes you to detail,
now if your list don't appear to be categorised you will need to press the SAT button on the remote and you need to select cable
at the bottom of the list this will then give you the categories,
to change each section you simply use your left or right arrow buttons

    GOOD LUCK

the differance is the non lan box has a lanport and the lan version has a lanport used to connect to your router
no you cant get free sky with this box
but it can connect to a payserver but we are not allowed to talk about that on this forum

When N3 comes, I guess you can see all the FTA channels but not the premium channels. You can use it as a FTA receiver for both Cable and Satellite. As of now, there is no firmware available and it will be highly unlikely that a firmware available as N3 is impossible to crack. This is my understanding

Hi mate, alot more starview talk on this forum so i have signed up. And becaus eof your question. The latest firmware is the 0108 [8th JAN] (obviously for the LAN box as only 500 units were made of the non-lan, so now all firmware will be for lan boxes). Btw the only other one for lan boxes is the 1214, the ones containing a boot file are for non-lan boxes. LAN BOXES DONT NEED THE BOOT FILE!

I jus got mine last thursday, having cable installed tomorrow. Already flashed and waiting to connect and channel scan. Got my cable area code ready..just one question, once flashed do i need to do a factory reset like it says for non-lan boxes or just the secret menu thing?

Also need more info on CCcams and .cfg files for educational purposes.

Thanks for your answer. But it doesnt answer my question. It is very clear which one is for LAN and which is not for LAN box. I had already flashed the older firmware and everything is working fine. My question what the new updated firmware will do as everything works fine at the moment.

About ur question - You do not need to factory reset. Just follow the instruction, flash it and then scan for signal, You are good to go

Is this the latest (one after the 0108 firmware)? what will it change (what were meant to be the bugs in last update)?
