Starview PVR Hard Disk

I am about to purchase the Startview 4 PVR. Please anybody tell me how good the recording is, considering the hard disk is over USB. Also can programs be timered?

Just as good as watching it...... nah, timer isn't working with current beta sw

Timer is working with 1.05.
