    sky box with no card

    can i get the free channels working without a card on a sky+ or normal sky box

    so its sort of like free-sat for instance with five,channel 4,e4 more 4 and all the itv's

    interesting as i remember having to buy the ?20 yellow house card to view ch5 and others.

      If you want to watch freesat, then you will need to purchase new white sly card.

      Don't buy the old blue card, as that will go off soon.

        No white Sky card required for Ch 4 & Five on eBay (end time 15-Mar-10 14:58:08 GMT)


        i would rather share the knowledge anyway

          I own three of the new white cards, purely for freesat. LOL

            you dont need any card for channel 5.press "services"on the handset>4 system setup>4 add channels enter frequency 10.773 pol H sym rate 22000 FEC 5/6 enable five on the list(yellow button) to view "services"on handset>7 other channels highlight five then select.

              i gathered that today i was having a look at the freq on my dreambox and i realised that all freesat is on 10.778 or whatever where sky block em with there own box on around freq 11.000-12000

              the same thing also works on the sky hd boxes for itvhd

                yeah further to my post #6 if you still have your old blue sky card dont throw it away as it can keep your regional BBC 1/ITV 1 channels open as well as BBC 2 and channel 4.but if you have no card at all if you install the following freqencies by the method I described above you can still get them via the add channels.all sym rates are 22000 and FECs 5/6.
                for BBC1/2 & FIVE.10.773H.10.788V.10.803H.10.818V.
                for ITV1 10.832H.10.891H.10.758V.
                for channel 4 10.714H.
