I have litterally just joined the formum and am 52 yrs of age i have had cable for some time and have a knowledge of flashing cable boxes using a nul modem cable with a usb converter as my computer does not have the relevant connection for rs2332 cable. i have flashed 3 different cable boxes so have a limited understanding of how it works.
as all the cable boxes are about to go black screen i thought the jump into satellite was the next obvious step.
done some reading but still makes no sense, i bought dreambox 500s and connected to existing sky dish, after plenty of trial and error got locked onto satellite and managed to access a lot of channels (most of which are scrambled) got all the fta channels i think.
i have very little understanding of sat tv in gemeral and would like some help in the very simplest terms please.
everyone has to start somewhere please appreciate i know absolutely nothing about sat,s but am very willing to learn, please no abbreviations, technical stuff please reply as if talking to a child with no brain (
