    DM500 Clone or Technomate1500+

    Hello,
I currently have a Technomate 1500+ linked up to motorized 1mtr dish. I am wondering if i purchase a DM500 clone would it open up more European channels for Football/ Sport & Movies than my current set up. I know that Thor1 is currently open and I can watch sports via that sat ,but I would prefer a sharper better quality image that we used to get from 13e or 19e satellites or should I stick with what I have all ready as the Technomate opens what is available anyway?
    Thanks in advance

That was basically the question I was wanting to know.
I am undecided about buying a Technomate TM-5200D USB or a DM500S. I know that they are different machines, but what would be recommended as regards opening the most channels. and the best picture quality?
I would think the DM500s would be more future proof as it can CS.

Just a word of warning on the DM500s,some units wont power a motor setup so have a look into that before you buy.No probs on fixed dishes tho.

Is there any way of checking before buying if the 500s will power up a motor? ie what supplier etc?

        Thanks.

Go for the 500S as the possibiltes are endless compared to the TM non linux range.

            Thanks

dm500 is the best option. Its ready for anything you throw at it. In Uk you will be able to open from 42E - 30W, 5000+ channels with a dreambox

I'm now leaning towards the TM-500 as I believe it is better regarding working with a dish motor. Many DM500S receivers are believed to have trouble driving a motor??
                Any advice much appreciated.

so am i right in thinking there are more channels open on 13e/ 19e on the DM500 over the TM.

I have had 4 dm500 and they all drive motor with no problems at all. The only downside with them is that the USAL dont work, you end up finding sats one by one.

Besides that dm500 is far more superiour than TM

unless you load a channel /sat list from the download/addons.

and the dm500 im using drives a motor all day long.

Why is tm500/tm600 better? I used to have a clone dm500S which was a good cheap and cheerful box to start with but I found the clone dm600 a few pounds more expensive was ten times better.

TM600 not cloned, very stable. Has 2 scart and rf out as well. 3 usb, 1 front/1 rear/ 1 internal. Approx ?85 del and also internal power supply. I have had one since they first came out and never had any issues with it. UR images are good and there are also ported dm images for these receivers. For the price they take some beating.
