dl 800000 error

Im trying to flash DBOX2 using the flashing guide using a NULL modem cable. In the hyperterminal, when I get to the root command, after typing dl 800000, the hyperterminal freezes abd S record load, offset:800000 does NOT appear. Ive tried a couple of different laptops.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure its a straight through f/f nullmodem cable if the box boots up why not use flashfxp and a crossover cable to transfer the image to the /tmp folder and use the dbox menu's to flash it or even use portable IFA.

I dont have a crossover cable and this seemed the easiest using the explanation on tis forum, Im normally a starview man, so was doing this as a favour for a pal. Got as far as dl 800000 but nothing else??

do you get the bootup detail shown in the first picture of the tut before you type the command, try copying and pasting the command from the tut instead of typing it in

Plus if the image you are trying to flash on is not a full working image you will still have to ftp some files to it after flashing to get the ppv channels to work anyway.

If you have a router you could connect the box to the router using a straight through ethernet cable
go into network settings on the box and turn DHCP on then home and red to save settings then reboot the box then go back in and see what ip the router has given it
then try using flashfxp to connect to it from your pc.
