    Intalling windows 7

    i have windows 7 rc7100 version and got the retail now
    but me dvd reader isnt working at all it will read for a few mins and then ''forget'' what it was doing and then it will say cannot find disc ive used a lens cleaner aswell (it didnt work)

    so anyway would i be able to put the contents on a hdd and install from there or does it have to be a disc?

    also would puttin the image of whats on my computer into my ipod as a hdd work to restore my data as a back up?

      Try this tool to see if your system can take windows 7 \WindowsUpgradeAdvisor.exe

        Get a new dvd writer there only ?20 and a doddle to fit, new model probably faster then your existing.

          Make sure the new DVD writer comes with a windows 7 driver. There's still a lot of stuff around that won't work with windows 7, and a lot of manufacturers won't support older models with new drivers. They often just provide drivers for their new models. I had that problem with my existing scanner when I moved to windows 7.

            easy way to do it is to go to this site and download the win to flash programme straight forward you dont have to do any dos writing it does it all for u then boot your pc as usb first boot device (Novicorp WinToFlash)<<<<<<<< this site google it cheers

              you don't need a driver for a dvd writer.
