    Eurovox EX5000 or Eurovox EX1000

Hi All, first post but I've been reading for a long while and I just have a quick question. I used to own a Eurovox Max (before I went to a Sky only flat) but have now moved once again and have cable so...

Which of the boxes has the better picture quality or are they about the same?

I had decided upon the ex5000 but then realised that it doesn't have twin tuners so the PVR functionality won't be as handy as I thought and seeing as the 1000 is cheaper it would obviously make more sense to get that if the PQ is the same as the 500.

I suppose the Starview 4 is also in my thoughts but I had heard they can be quite buggy.

    Thanks in advance.

Between the 2 the picture quality is the same, ex5000 is not a twin tuner but you can record and watch other channels that on the same transponder. Some transponders can have 15-20 chanels some only have a few dependent on where you live.

From what I hear I would personally stay away from the starview 4 but entirley up to you.

Thanks, just need to decide whether I want a PVR now then. Is the picture quality better than the Max was?

To be honest there is very little difference thought the whole range of EV's. The ex1000sl is a max V slimed down so as said pretty much the same. Sounds mad but I think out of them all the EV Blue has the best tuner and picture quallity but thats my opinion and I've had a few.

If I was you and I was only bothered about the picture quallity and not recording I would go for the ex1000sl.

Good luck with whatever you decide to get

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing and then get the hd one when it finally comes out.

          Cheers for your help

The blue tuner was always the best but went out of production, so was taken out of the Eurovox range. Just havent been the same since even with driver enhancements.

Press Menu, config, system info and type back what it says in there.
