Hello good people. Ive just recieved my new dm500hd straight out of the box and i cant connect to my pc , reason being that i dont know the ip address,its not in ipconfig/all and ive tried manually entering a few numbers close to my routers ip but still wont connect. using windows 7, tried homeplugs and dm500hd straight to router and tried 2 different cables but still nothing ! any suggestions people ?

Go into router and check what devices you have attached to your router. -
went into router and ive a pc, ps3 and a dm800 and thats all, no 500hd. tried connecting with DCC and DREAM-UP but its not connecting to either. ethernet ok network ok ip address unconfirmed !sigpicComment

Ive got the dm500 hooked up to my tv via scart and i can change the dreambox ip okay but i still cant connect to my network. Ive installed virtual comport drivers okay but nothing .sigpicComment

hi go to ur dm setup menu and disable the dchp and save. make a note of the ip at top beside the dchp, now exit all.start dcc click under the dreambox and click on search.((make sure u have attached the null cable from pc to box and the athernet(cat5) cable from router to box)) hope this helpsComment

I think 1 of the problems is that 500hd doesnt hav a null modem socket , its now a usb mini to usb . i took my 500 to my pals house and hooked it to his router and installed DCC and it gave me an ip address and network was green - so then i tried dream up and it woudnt give me the choice to flash.sigpicComment

some routers do IP like 192.168.0.****
some do it 192.168.1.***
MAke sure you follow that. Dm500 just change the IP using your remote and the router will change to that. Try to download something with your remote to check if internet is coming to the box at allComment
