need help with my ps3

i have a ps3 the hardrive that was in it died so i had 2 put a new drive in the ps3 but its blank how do i get my ps3 bk alive agen plz help me

ok m8 can help you out with this how far have you got and what have you done so far?

i have just put another sata drive in but the ps3 wont load up fully

it comes up with a thing saying about if the system carnt be restarted and some think about pressing start and selet @ the same time

hard disk must be reformatted and you must reinstall the
system software.

can anyone help me as well please i got a 60 gig hdd from a ps3 formatted it with swiss knife but now i dont know how to rebuild it file wise,is there a programme out there i can use to put the things back on or is it game over .
plz help...

not game over at all m8, how far have you got so far?? have you put t back into the playstation and formatted it?

thanks m8 yes i have put it back in to ps3 but now it powers off after about 30 secs comes up at first asking if i wish to format but dare not do it case i do damage something ,any advice on what to do about the power off problem will be much appreciated.
its like it starts up i can hear the fans but then just goes back to flashin red light.

ok well its ok to format it through the playstation but i dont understand why it would be switching itself off??? is it a 60gb model with mem card reader and stuff?

your ps3 has overheated when the red light flashes ,mine did this last week . i phoned up sony they sent me a replacement within minutes of the replacement one being plugged in got a message on the tv ,turn your system off as it is overheating,still waiting for another replacement. my ps3 is a 60gb .according to sony if this happens its a major thing.hope this helps.good luck with yours.ps have you got continues play cover
