NTFS to FAT32

Hi , PLease could someone tell me how to change my 500gig external hard-drive from NTFS to FAT32 so that im able to play avi films right from my hard drive to my PS3.Also will i lose all my data on my hard drive if i convert???

easy to do m8 just google swissknife, its free and you can use that to format your drive to fat32

plug external HD into computer
go to command line

type format <drive> /fs:FAT32

where drive is the drive letter of the external hard disk.
