just my opinion

plasma tv sets always tend to give a more lifelike picture with much better skin tones than most lcd that we sell,so if general tv viewing and dvd watching is what you do mainly then plug for the plasma,lcd give good hd pictures on xbox 360,ps3,sky hd so if you use these a lot then go for lcd,try to pick then highest contrast ratio and full hd res 1920 x 1080 if you can afford and always choose a branded make just my thoughts i own both lcd and plasma and watch the plasma 80% of the time.
