the best present i ever got as a child was a portable record player.
any one under 30 click here for more info

now bear in mind i was 5 years old and this was 1978...

i still belived in santa and was told that i had not to get it.

the present was held back until i had opened all other presents..
i can still remember opening the present and seeing it for the first time.....
i took it everywhere with me (with 5 or 6 badly scratched records...)

    ahh the memories....

      Best present ever?

Mines was a bangle from the wife just before we got married. My gift from her. I wear it all the time. Even under long sleeved tops.

Octomus Prime Transformer Toy in thr 80's its all I ever wanted and I opened my pressies and bwaled my eyes out cos I hadnt got it, my mum asked me to go see if the paper boy had been ( i was only 5 so didnt know papers were not delivered on xmas day!) I went to the porch and there was a present lying there I took it to my mum who said Father Christmas must of dropped on his way in,

It was addressed to me so Iopened it and got the toy, Nothing has beat that to this day im now 30!!

Mine was a `stereo` record player which, for some reason, had only one speaker built in to cabinet.
But you could buy a second plug in speaker.
I suppose it was an earlier version of `batteries not included`.

A friend had one of these, dam was I jelous. Saw one in a gadget shop a few weeks back. Really had to fight the urge to buy it.

My favorite pressie from being a kid was either the Race 'n' Chase with the corvet & the cop car. Or, the scalectric TCR (Total Control Racing). It's hard to decide between the two.

Race 'n' Chase had the jump & U-turn. That and being a slot car you could get the arse end out on corners. But TCR allowed for lane changing so you could have propper races with overtaking moves on corners.
