    Western Digital problems

    Guys I have just got a 500gb Western Digital and it is taking 2hours to transfer 6gb from my pc to it, can anyone help me to fix it?
    My pc is windows vista with 4gb RAM.

    You didn't mention is it external drive or not ? Did you try different usb port (if it's external) and did you get a communicate from Vista that the new hardware was successfully installed?

      It is a external, i have just done it with a small file and it is getting 30mb or more, but with this file that are 6gb goes very slow, do you know why?

            the download is not a firmware update not only that it does not support your operating system.
            it simply could be a bad connection try different usb ports or cable.

                Is it one 500gb partition ? IS the same thing happening on antoher computer?
