Uploading a profile pic on this site?

FFS How hard is it to upload a profile picture on here? Ive tried loads of different kinds. It says keep them to 100x100 or under 64k ish. What file type does it actually take coz it don't like the standard jpeg, giff etc that ive tried. Keeps saying invalid file.
