E63 unlock

Anyone know how to unlock E63 on 3G by just using data cable. Any help welcome.......

OMG!

This software may unlock some early BB5 based phone but the E63 is SL3 and although it shouldn't destroy the phone, it certainly will not unlock it!!

SL3 phones are not easy to unlock and I'd suggest the best route is to buy a code from E-Bay or similar...

You might also find you need the Jaff unlocking box to use the software.
Not going to bother downloading it to try. There are two versions of this phone. One is about 4 years old and a BB5 SL2 phone. The newer model is BB5 SL3, almost hopeless to even bother trying to unlock it unless you're happy to pay over ?35 to a server.

Don't believe everything you read in newspapers or find on Google!

Usually it's not possible to unlock without a FBUS connection and as Canker has already pointed out this would need a JAF or UFS box with the appropriate leads as a minimum!

I believe "brute force" unlocking is available (at a price) but this requires very high PC specifications and ultra fast graphics card (which is used for code calculation) average code calculations range from 3 hours and upward!!

It might if the phone is the older SL2 model & the gods are on your side. If it's the newer SL3 version you have a better chance of catching Simon Cowell slipping it to the Pope.

All E63-1 are SL3 and need expensive unlock or code purchase!

Well you're in luck. The prices have dropped slightly for SL3 unlocks.

Average price is now between ?25-?30

You just need to find a shop that's setup for SL3 forced unlocking. I know of a shop that offers this service, but it's unlikely to be in your neck of the woods.

Hi, sorry if this is offensively simple, but how can one tell if the E63 that I have is SL3 or not? Inside the case it says it is Model E63-3....does that help?

I think the E63-3 is a RM-450 and I have all versions of these listed as SL3. Ignore the -3 on the model number, this is not the SIM Lock type it just indicates the third variant of the E63.
