now we have to pay to listen to the radio

l got a phone call today from the performing rights society asking if our firm use a radio in the workshop .
They have informed us that any place of work using a radio must pay for the privelige. The only exception is if you use headphones that nobody else can hear.I dont know the cost of the licence but believe its 125 pounds. WTF is going on
Has anyone else heard about this or been approached by the performing rights society.
any information provided is for educational/experimental purposes only.
