I received a phone call albiet a cold call from a company called QMS who said they worked on behalf of Carphone Warehouse and do the Vodafone upgrades. They said that as my contract was up for renewal I could have an upgrade. They offered me the phone i wanted and with a reasonable contract. If i was unhappy with any part of it i could cancel within seven days.
However my contract is not up for renewal as i recently upgraded in June this year. Now thinking that this is just a Vodafone c0ck up, and because I do not pay by direct debit they will not have my bank details I said ok.. I will check the paperwork over when it arrives and see it all looks legit. I will also contact Vodafone to see if they can see whether any extra line has been taken out on my account. If still all is good i will just go and sell the phone.
I did google these people and although some threads say they are a legit company doing these Vodafone upgrades many say they are just scammers but nobody had written any details of any specific instances where they were scammed, most seemed to be jumping on the band wagon as they were in fact cold called by this QMS company.
Has anybody here had any dealings with them or actaully had an upgrade through them. I have read the info on the net about them but am looking for specific instances or information that would make me either change my mind and refuse to accept the new phone and cancel immediately, or, i should accept the phone and the new contract and then sell it on.
Before you ask, I have already called vodafone and spoekn with one of their muppets who advised me to cancel it. When i asked how this QMS company obtained all my vodafone details he did not answer, now thats a surprise. He said they were just after my bank details but if Vodafone do not have them and i did not pass them on then they will not have them anyway. I do not may by direct debit, I always pay by card and only when i am talking to a real person at their end, not a soddiing automated payment service.
QMS are a third party company who work on behalf of the Carphone Warehouse calling customers who took out a Vodafone connection with them (not directly through Vodafone).

They contact these customers after their renewal date passes to see if they've upgraded - if they haven't then the upgrade is processed via the Carphone Warehouse again.
