    Where to Buy Dreambox?

    Hi all,
Hope you all had a great Christmas.

I'm a complete noob & I've finally decided to take the plunge and invest in a sat Dreambox. After reading a few threads it will be either an Original 500s or Clone 600s as i'm on a budget.

I basically want to cardshare. Am i right in thinking the the above boxes are ok?

I'd be grateful if anyone can send me any link(s) to a reputable dealer where I can purchase a dreambox. I am from the UK.

I wanna buy one asap and get cracking...

Both the 500 and 600 will be fine for sharing.

Why not try one of the Digital Kaos sponsors as they offer discounts to members.

can you program a config file in linux..? If not STOP do not buy a dreambox.. Learn about it first..

This site is littered with people who have bought a linux box to cardshare and then found they have wasted their money as it requires computer programing..

The Dreambox is a standalone computer that requires programing, you will get nothing on it if you cant speak linux..

You have to do a lot of things outside your dreambox before it will work..

        Create a static IP
        Port Forward your Router
        Configure home network

The dreambox is not plug and play on satellite

          Thanks for your advice.

I understand the Dreambox is not plug and play but i've got a little bit of programming experience from uni and also I think the guides are really helpful.

Can anyone re-commend where I can get a dreambox. I think I've clicked on the sponsors who seem to be dvbmonkey but there seems mixed reviews on these guys.

          Cheers

You will get best customer service from a Dream approved seller, i.e Satstore.co.uk, dreamboxshop.co.uk.

If you want to risk buying from china, buy from dvbseller.com. dvbmonkey.com have a reputation of having to wait 3-4 weeks for your receiver.

As always, google will get you loads of sellers.

No one needs to program anything.

All the needs done is a simple edit to a configuration file which can be done on Windows or any other OS, the edits are only server details and login details.

This site is littered with people who have bought a linux box to cardshare and then found they have wasted their money as it requires computer programing..
Absolutely ZERO programming skills are needed to setup a dreambox on satellite, if you can read/write and use notepad in Windows you're laughing.

The Dreambox is a standalone computer that requires programing, you will get nothing on it if you cant speak linux..
                      Completely untrue.

                      Create a static IP
This takes seconds to do and has nothing whatsoever to do with Linux.
                      Port Forward your Router
Not always necessary,my router handles my Dreambox no problem without any manual forwarding settings.

                      Configure home network
All these things are extremely basic things that can be setup in minutes.

                            Hi,

I bought my clone 500s last summer by dvdseller and at this time no problem, just using nemesis image or other but no gemini image if you want to keep your dm in use
