D2X v7 cios pack and install instructions

First thing I did was to make a fresh nand backup just incase I don't like the new setup.....
Right lads this has been made very simple with the introduction of the v7 wad pack. Download http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...v7-final-1913/ and put in the wad folder on your sd card and install with wad manager. Do not delete any current cios just install the d2x pack straight over the top. That's it your wii is now running the latest cios.....If you are already using usbloader gx and using a forwarder channel to load then go to the update option and this will update to version 2.3. If your wii is not online you don't have usbloader gx or use a full channel gx then you need to download Digital Kaos - Downloads - USBLoader GX 2.3 all in one package ios249 in this pack there is a forwarder channel your .dol file and the full channel. Either install the full channel wad with wad manager or install the forwarder wad and install the .dol on the sd card or fat32 partition of usb. By using gx 2.3 combined with the v7 d2x cios pack your wii can now use your hdd as a FULL emulated nand (channels and game saves) I haven't tried this or PARTIAL emulated nand (game saves) works perfectly. This setup will also read multiple partitions and formats (needs to be set in main gx settings under hard drive options) it is as simple as selecting read multiple partitions and all partitions (not just game partitions). I have 3 partitions on my hdd which was perfect for testing this...First partition is formatted to wbfs and all games work...Second partition is NTFS and all games work....Third partition is Fat32 and you guessed it all games work. If you install everything you used to load form your sd card onto a fat32 partition on the hdd the emulated nand will save to the hdd. If sd card is left in the default path for the emu nand is sd. So that's it I will not be needing my latest nand backup or my sd card. Well I might need my sd if I can't get mplayer to look at the hdd instead of trying to still load from an empty sd card slot....It might be to do with my fat32 being third on the drive. Whole drive will be formatted to fat when i get the time so that will sort that out, but it's no fuss to install the sd card when i want to stream a film from the pc anyway.

as was thinking of keeping maybe 249-250(just as it works with everything so far) but add all the others?

You can pick and choose but the 249 and 250 are upgrades from what you have and will be required if you want to use gx for nand emu or blocking ios reload as the version of gx supplied is for installation on 249. I can guarantee that every game you can load with what you have will load with d2x on the gx loader or wiiflow (apparently) I haven't tried wiiflow as I have tried about 300 gb worth of games on gx and they all work

Just to add to this thread even though it is already on another these are specific cios upgrades and can still be used along side hermes 222, 223 and 224 used for uloader and cfg. You will still have 202 installed for using m player. The main reason for the new cios to be based around 249 is because that is the ios that is used for original game discs

Further testing is showing that nand emulation for game saves is not working for all games but it may just be my setup...I haven't had a lot of time to play around with this and will keep testing and keep you updated

I will put it out on the open forum when I have it working properly unless you want to help test it that is....At this stage you need to make sure that your emu nand is being saved to a fat32 partition and take out your sd card or you will need to change the path manually as I have had to do due it installing to ntfs partition and not working properly. Once you have a fat32 partition on your hdd do not try to extract all game saves at the same time you will get errors and only some will work. It is better to do it individually. when you click on the game to load it click the settings button where you would normally change your ios (game load) in that list go down to emulated nand and set it to partial then click save. Also in that settings list you will see a button to extract game save to emulated nand click that and that should be you done. You will have to repeat this step for everygame save as you go to play the games. A few words of warning the only way to be sure it has worked is to move the game save from your wii memory to sd card, that will remove all traces of the game save from the console but it will not be lost if the extract hasn't worked, the next pointer is that cod black ops and 007 goldeneye must be left to run from the true nand on the wii memory or they do not work properly in the case of black ops you cannot play online from the emu nand. See how you go 1 game at a time if you don't have much space on an sd card for the original game saves you transfer from the wii after extracting a copy to the emu nand transfer them from sd to pc but remember you won't know what game save is what on the sd when viewing in the pc as they are just a set of numbers

Yes mate I have tested it but remember not to try and use the emulated nand function with cod as it doesn't work. Driver sf also works. Remember to set cod to load with 250 not the default 249. You must install the usb loader gx v2.3 for the cios wads to work properly

Need more info than that m8. What won't let you, what does it do or say on the screen, what are you trying use gx for i.e disc or hdd what softmod guide did you follow. That kind of thing

What IOS to Use in WAD Manager

Hi, little rusty on this but what IOS selection do I make in WAD Manager to install the d2x wads? I am using ver 1.7 and also using CFG70 for my loader. Thakns in advance for any info!

The d2x pack are all wads extract it into your wad folder and select to install any wads that says it's d2x from 245 to 251 and they will work with cfg if you don't want to use gx

Thanks, I understand about the Wads folder but the Wad manager is asking what IOS to install the Wads under the dfault is 249 is that what I use as I install each wad in the D2x pack?
