Guys ive heard rumours about the SKY EPG for dm500's, does anyone have links to this or better yet a link and a guide. I knwo it exists but i cant track it down.
As for an answer the nearest thing you can get to Sky UK Epg is the Data but it only works on the PLi image, it's part of the image and should be relatively straightforwards to set up.
rough guideline:
1. Download the latest version of the MV plugin through Gemini's Blue Panel
2. Start the MV Plugin, press Menu, select Input Config
2a. Make sure AutoDirs is not selected.
2b. Choose and remember the Storage Directory
3. Download Mplug 0.7.4 or newer
4. Unzip Mplug
5. Copy Mplug to /var/bin and change it's permissions to 755 (chmod 755 /var/bin/Mplug)
6. Copy inputs.txt to /var/tuxbox/config/mv
7. Copy ChanRad.in to /var/tuxbox/config/mv
8. Create a directory called mplug inside the aforementioned Storage Directory
9. Telnet to your Dreambox and issue: /var/bin/Mplug /my/storage/dir/mplug 0 /var/tuxbox/config/mv
(This can take a while as it is now downloading the latest program information from RadioTimes)
10. Start MV, press Menu, select Input Config and choose "Mplug_MV350_dat" as an input method.
11. Start MV on your Dreambox, press Menu and select Alias Manager
12. Map your channels to the Downloaded EPG channels (this is a pain in the ..., but you need to do so only once)
Enjoy
There are detailed infos on how to edit the single files in a readme file enclosed with Mplug.
After step 9 and before running MV in step 10, you may want to edit /my/storage/dir/mplug/mplug.dat and remove the "mplug.rad." string before the channel names. This will make the Alias mapping much easier.
Aliasing creates a file called map.txt inside /var/tuxbox/config/mv
You could edit this file manually rather than mapping through the remote control.
Step 9 needs to be repeated weekly. Alternatively you can set up a cron job to automate this.
After doin further reading on this i have found that tutorial on about 5 diff sat forums posted back over the years but yet nobody can provide a link to Mplug and I've searched like mad for it.
Also on another forum they state that this method is outdated and to use oudeis' epg plugin but I can't find that either.
alunfennell have you got the files needed and have you done this before thanks

Hello cauliflower69
Here you go M8, By the way its called MV plugin I have added Version 3.1 below, You my download it from my online File sharing page here file name is called Mv-b3.tar, I did this a long time ago, backen in 2005/6 but I never keep it up to date because I am always messing around with my Dreamboxes and using different software.
MV is a free EPG plugin for the Dreambox digital satellite receiver, intended to replace both the built in channel list and Multi-EPG.
MV used to be called 'MultiView'. The name was changed to prevent confusion with the existing technology called 'Multiview'.
Full MV source code is released under the GPL. It can be found in every release tarball.
Advantages Over Builtin Software
* XMLTV/EPGUI download/cache/display. Auto-conversion of XMLTV to EPGUI for speed/space saving.
* MHW scan (via PLi?'s mhwepg binary)/cache/display
* multiple highly configurable graphical views (e.g. 'what's on now')
* multiple list views (films, favourites, selected/playing channel, all channels) with improved presentation [NOT LITE VERSION]
* channel icons for both graphical and list views
* GUI management of definitions for favourite TV programs [NOT LITE_VERSION]
* IMDB support for extra film data, in collaboration with Bjorn Hijmans.
* efficient auto-scan channels (one channel, this satellite, all satellites) to fill enigma EPG cache and MHW file with data
* save enigma cache data to USB/HDD when plugin exits, so it's not lost when the Dreambox is restarted
* automatic scan for favourite TV programs,with indicator when the list changes
* special program highlighting: films, favourites, current playing
* browse around channels without exiting EPG
* time bar for jumping around the next week of programs quickly
* title/descr language selection based on OSD language
* automatic timer begin/end adjustment
* scroll bar to show position in channels
* option to maintain MV's aspect ratio when enigma is in 'smart' 16:9 mode
* quick switch between EPGs for different bouquets
* 'active' auto-update when new data available
* much more
Here are the most important files and where they can go to get the plugin working.
* mv.so -> /var/tuxbox/plugins/extepg.so
* mv.cfg -> /var/tuxbox/plugins/extepg.cfg
* lang.txt.en|de|es -> /var/tuxbox/config/mv/lang.txt.en|de|es
* skin.esml -> /var/tuxbox/config/mv/
* mv-lite.so, mv-lite.cfg -> /var/tuxbox/plugins [if you want the LITE version]
* mhwepg -> /var/bin/ [if you want to read MHW EPG data, get it from http://www.tech-sources.com/~download/pli/mv/mhwepg]
* icons/ -> /var/tuxbox/config/mv/icons [if you want channel icons]
* icons.esml -> /var/tuxbox/config/mv/ [if you want channel icons]
* mkdir /var/lib/; ln -s /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 /var/lib/libgcc_s_nof.so.1; <restart dreambox> [only if you get complaints about a lib with 'nof' in the name]
From this site, MV is currently only available for the images for which there is a tarball listed below.
However, many dreambox images have MV in theor download menu. This is the best method to use.
Memory
The application itself (standard version) is currently around 500K. I have no idea of the extra memory used while running, it's dependent how many channels are in your bouquet.
If you have problems, here are some tips:
* change the 'Pre' and 'Post' parameters for your inputs. Smaller values will result in lower memory usage. See the User Guide for more information.
* Make sure the two directories in the Input Config are on your HDD or USB, whichever you have.
* using the MV Lite version once you have configured everything will save you more than 220K.
