just done data transfer via usb. machine switched off and on as usual but unit lit up 4 0s and no picture on tv.nothing now seems to transmit to tele. unit still switches off/on manually, but nowt else, anybody help?

You need to do a forced download...
Download the v1.87 darkman loader.. Load the latest patch(which is in the stickies) then connect your receiver via null modem cable only not usb to serial.. Make sure the switch at the back of the box is off.. Then press start, the loader will then prompt you to connect your receiver..then and only then you turn the switch on and it should begin to download the patch and save your box.. You can do this with the official firmware too..

thanks mate firstly what is darkman loader and second cant get pc to tm to far for lead to reach hence using mem stick. can i use lappy

You can use lappy if it has a 9pin serial port...
As for the darkman loader, Goto the last page in the tm section and you should find it there or search for it in the search box...

took box to pc -found darkman -loaded with patch- tried twice-unit display rattled away for a while - seemed good but still no picture-what have i missed- thanx

with darkman loader, load the official tm software... make sure the switch is off untill prompted to turn it on..

Thanx mate--download did work ok--but moved frequency -had to retune tv to find it- so halfway there -problem now is everything in french- working on that at the moment but at least got pictures back -once again thanx for you guidance
