Do I have to have 2 LNB outputs to my S11 to view HD?

I have an Openbox S11, and It has 2 inputs into the box, the sat feed and a `loop`, what is this loop?

In order to view HD content, do I need to have 2 feeds from the Quad LNB on my satellite to my openbox?

No, you only need the one going into the satellite input socket.

I believe that when the S11 is switched off the loop output enables you to enable the sat signal to pass through to another device e.g. a Freesat box.

              cant see that m8

switch any sat box off and you get nothing through the loopthrough

put it onto STANDBY and it will pass the loop through , if there is no energy saving switched on , that is the usual function

twin sat feeds are for twin tuner boxes , not single tuner boxes

any single sat feed from a universal lnb will allow HD signals , or 2 in the case of a twin, quad or octo lnb

                sling box

Hi guys i know this post is old but i thought i'll bring it back to life.

if the openbox is on standby your saying the box will send the signal through the loop slot ?.

will the channels be encrypted or decoded.

i ask this because i want to hook up a slingbox hd, which has the the satelite slot (coxial i think its called :S) so i thought the openbox will do the decrypting and then send the signal out decrypted to the slingbox.

and i can watch ma tv on the go is this possible ?

sorry if you dont understand, ma english is not that great

                    Not necessessarily.

The loop is only active when the box is in standby or off. If the same sub was used it could only be on the box that was on and the other must be off or in standby..

Problem would be if both were left on, only one could pull the sat signal but both would be calling for the sub which is a no no.
