Texan teen invents false identity, is deported to Colombia

A runaway Texan teenager was deported to Colombia after assuming a false identity as an illegal immigrant.

15-year-old Dallas resident Jakadrien Larise Turner identified herself to police as 21-year-old Tika Lanay Cortez from Bogot? and proceeded to convince a number of high-ranking officials - including her lawyers and a Colombian diplomat - that she was not permitted in the country.

"At no time during these criminal proceedings was her identity determined to be false," a spokesperson for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency told The AP.

The representative added that an investigation into the case had been launched.

Turner, who ran away after her parents decided to divorce, was eventually tracked down on Facebook by her grandmother, under the names Tika SoloToolong and Tika Confero.

The US embassy in Bogot? asked police to collect Turner from a Colombian detention facility in December, but she is reportedly still being held there for unknown reasons.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement said that criminal database and fingerprint checks it carried out during the deportation process had "revealed no information to invalidate" her claim to be Tika Cortez.



It would take them years to do anything about it in the UK so it it would not work..

I know they cant work it out yet a wee old frail woman can turn on a laptop manage to get on to facebook (already two big achievements for the older generation ) and track her down.
