depends on what you want to do with it really...personally I don't think that is a very good deal nowadays I was given a galaxy s 300mins 1000 texts and unlimited internet with no fair usage for ?18 a month and that was about 12 months ago so they should really be offering you at least the galaxy s or equivilent htc. What you need to consider is will you be using the internet out and about and bear in mind google navigation uses your mobile connection so does facebook, emails and most important of all tapatalk for DK. So your best option is the "galaxy ace plus" phone wise as it's the by far the best of them all and is on a par with the galaxy s but with less than half the internal memory, however running gb2.3 will give you the option to store most apps on external sd card keeping internal free for widgets and live feed apps

Isn't that just down to the old operating system though m8 as the ace could only go as high as froyo on 2.2 whereas the ace plus has a much faster processor and is running gingerbread which is a much more stable system

I've used the HTC Wildfire and I have to admit it's a rock solid phone!

I have also used the Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Y. As mentioned earlier, the Ace is a bit buggy but a nice handset. The Y is at best OK, in as much as it does what it says on the box but doesn't set the world alight and I found it a bit small for a 'grown up' phone!

If the Galaxy Wave 3 is on offer it's worth a look. But keep in mind that its Bada based and not Android. The Galaxy Wave that I had gave super results especially on HD video recording. I'd choose this over the Ace any day! Bada OS has its own Samsung Apps store, not as many Apps as Android but you can guarantee every App downloaded from the Bada store will work on the Wave 3.

The Nokia C3-01 isn't that great. Sadly, I think this is still from the 'lost the plot' Nokia design family!

If you can hold out a bit longer the prices on some of the higher models will come down. The Galaxy S3 is due for launch in september, when it happens the S2 will be available on much lower tariffs.

Think my dad got his S2 for ?23 p/m with 500GB data & the usual mins & texts.

I'll also back Jim on the Bada handsets. One of the most stable operating systems out there. Had a play with a Wave 2 a few weeks ago, very responsive & everything was as good, if not better, than most of the high end phones (excluding those on the Arm7 dual core processors)

                    Important

Don't go through the network for your upgrade!

Pick on one of the independents, but not carphone whorehouse. Personally I use Phone 4 U. Never had a problem with them & the manager in my local really knows his sh!t. I can be an utter tw@t to people trying to sell me phones, but he kept pace with everything I threw at him.

I've had a bad experience with a wave on bada, granted it was an old one and it was kies that killed it but it did come back to life with a manual flash but not for long. However canker and jim will know much better than me especially with a system I haven't dealt with for a while

I loved the Wave but it's Bada based and you can really download apps from Samsung!

As mentioned the Ace is a good phone but does have a habit of locking up once in a while and requires a battery pull to do the job of resetting the phone!

I have also had the HTC Wildfire, nice phone but not as nice as the Galaxy range! Plus expensive for things like batteries etc.

I have the Galaxy S2 and until the S3 comes out, I'd say it's the best phone available on planet earth! Keeping the Wi-Fi on does drain the battery but other than this I can not fault the phone!!
