    Technomate 5402 newbie question

    Hi All,

I'm currently living in Germany and will be buying an 80cm dish soon for hotbird 13, astra 19.2 and 28.2.

    My questions are:

    1. What motor do I need that will be compatible with the TM5402?

    2. How/What do I need to do with the TM5402 to set it up so that it knows there is a motor and how do I store satellite positions?

    Any help appreciated!

Hi have a look on fleabay lots of sellers ,selling complete kits with dish and motor, the fun then begins setting it up,make sure you have a south facing wall or area where your dish is going, you then can google you long and lat position if you want usuals set up or you can just manually store the sats, lots involved for a quick answer, hope this helps.

Hi. You can use a TM2600 motor. Should be perfect for your TM. You can use either USALS or 1.2 from MOTORIZED SETTINg menu in INSTALLATIONS. USALS is the automatic search and 1.2 is the manual search. If i were you i would try to line up with ASTRA 19 east as your first satellite. With USALS you will need to enter your longitude and latitude figures for location in Germany. For 1.2 you dont need any longitude and latitude figures you just need to find each satellite manually and store the positions. Get the motor first and take it from there. Regards.

Any sat will do if using usals, but if using diseqc you will need to set up sat on highest point of the arc for your location to be best.
