I agree with above: large container with lid, take back off and battery out with sim and leave in container for over day.

Tried that meat, but that ~~~~er Branson was there spitting more water than the vacuum could handle

It's been in the rice for a few days now still no sign of life

put it this way, you wouldn't drink it , it will power up to the apple logo while plugged into a pc.

Not sure what is achieved by putting a iPhone in a bag of rice and letting it dry slowly....it will give more time for the water to damage circuit board....the best way to minimise damage is to instantly get a hair dryer on it..and try to open up the device as much as possible to help the drying process....Any worthwhile tech will tell you the rice thing is bull...

Try putting your iPhone next to a "boil in the bag" rice for a bit....the phone may work but any problems you get, can be due to the water damage..eg not charging, volume buttons not working, drop calls etc etc

                    like I said.."ole wives tale"

worth getting those waterproof covers for these accidents.

Last week, while covering an unrelated event in Park City, Utah, we stumbled upon a demonstration by a couple of guys from the company Liquipel, who we'd been hearing about for a few days and had been...

We had this discussion on here before and yes the rice has been known to work but it can often be only a short term measure as there will still be water corroding somewhere inside. I think it was canker caniston who spoke of this in more details and gave a tutorial on how to clean it internally properly. It could be worth a pm to canker skegs.

you need to get some pure alcohol rub and give it a good clean out, sound advice from canker cannison a while back,,give it a good scrub and then dry it out with a hairdryer re assemble and then hope for the best,,i did the same with the mrs 3gs,worked a treat, but after a while bits and pieces stopped working etc,so its a quick fix really,i wouldnt hold out on it sorting it completely
                            good luck
