I saw a thread a few days ago asking for Photo's of the Clone Duo internals, well here they are happy to oblige

Cheers m8, even the power supply has the correct labelling on it,
only difference I can see is the wires on the switch of the power supply, they have red and black, whereas a real one has a black and white cable coming from it.Apart from that looks ok.
Cheers for pics Digicon.Comment

Unless they changed the remote in a later revision ie V2.0 then it should work although never tried mine as i use a harmony.

I've had my dm800se clone now for some 6 months and I think I'm now getting the itch to replace it with a Duo
I'm going to get some prices tomorrow but and now for what might be a silly question.
Are the clones all the same in terms of revisions or whatever and the same between suppliers? Difficult question to answer unless you've purchased from more than 1 supplier but thought I'd ask anyway

@digicon You know I am itching to write chapter and verse here, but currently I'm biting my tongue.
All I would say is that pictures of my Duos internals look remarkably similar to yours, save for the scorch marks.
Nuff said.

For all those looking at this thread and considering a clone please be aware that there is now 2 versions of the clone 1 is ferrari and the other I haven't found out who is making it but it is cheaper to buy however there seems to be a few problems with the flashing the box and powers supplies.Comment

I bought a genuine model from world of sat. My only regret was not buying a triple tuner. As far as i know the remote works with the tv volume wise it does anyway, never bothered with anything else. At the the beginning i was installing things i wasn't sure about so causing the box to be slow to react and at times i had to restart it at the mains. So i wiped it and started again, now its spot on and glitch free. I have it linked to my receiver and the sound quality is really crisp. I have speakers that are of very high quality and this vu+duo makes them worth the money. Picture quality is excellent. The pause rewind (when the settings are sorted) is far and away faster and more responsive than either sly or vermins units. There are a lot of things i haven't figured out about this vu+ but i think personally its money well spent. I spent ?320. on mine without realising i could have bought a triple tuner for same, or there abouts price and installed my own hdd.Last edited by clem58; 7 August, 2012, 16:59.Comment
