i got an old computer, and got one of these lying around. normally i use powerline adaptors but this is wireless. less wires, the better.

im sure the drivers would come in use for someone. enjoy ppl.

I used another brand of WiFi usb on the skybox f3. It had a screw on antenna and it showed up as 94% signal in the same room as were my modem is. Haven't tried it in a different room yet. What sort of signal does the official usb WiFi give?

I think alfa has a high power usb stick that should work, the
AWUS036NH with RT2870,no way to verify that tho.

It seems like you are all having success with your F3 and the wifi adapter. I'm also looking for the xp driver for it as I've found it completely useless on the Skybox and thought I'd make use of it somewhere else. All I get is "wifi timeout" despite 82% signal. After some messing it connects to an old Linksys 54g router, with less signal but it just refuses to connect to my Linksys 320N router point blank. I've tried widband, narrowband, different channels, WPA, WP2, AES, TKIP and unsecure and it just wont have it. Anyone got any ideas?

Some makes of wifi kit just dont like each other, I used to have problems with Netgear and TPLink "N" spec refusing to play together, yet an older "G" spec card from NetGear connected perfectly to the TPLINK router, as did an old "G" spec TPLink card to the NetGear router!! (Borrowed for testing).
