Should have added that my apologies.

      Flashing The EX7000HD using USB

      1. Download the required firmware.
      2. Copy the file to your usb pen or equivalent, ensure filename is (flash.tbn).
      3. Insert it into the usb slot and switch power off then back on at the rear switch.
      4. Box will reboot, open the flash file extract it to its memory and install it automatically.
      5. Once flashed select your desired settings, scan then enjoy.

This can also be flashed via null modem cable ,(if required), using the STBM tool this can also be found in downloads Digital Kaos - Downloads - EX7000 Loader & Editor

Can I just ask satsmo, What exactly does this f/w do? I haven't noticed a major difference. I think maybe the channel changing is slightly faster.

Haven't tried it myself but I have been told its to improve scanning and channel loading as you stated. I will give it a bash when I get home.

Mine has the 8/1/09 version on it so I tried this myself a few mins ago, I followed the instructions to the letter yet nothing happens. It says USB detected when I turn it back on from the back of the unit then that's it, it just displays the time. Any ideas please? Thank you.

Edit: Sorted it out. I got the 22/1/09 off the tbc.cc toolbar, even though the folder has been updated, it still contains the old firmware!!!!!!!! So I got if off here and walla! Thanks.

Make sure that you've got no splitters in your cable feed and do a deep scan. I discovered a splitter in my loft which I wasn't aware of, I removed it and hey presto, lots more channels. Once you've scanned and are receiving all of the channels you can then set it up anyway you want with splitters etc.

Which is the latest firmware for the EX7000HD?

It was added here on 28/01/09 but via the chatterbox toolbar you've got 8/01/09 (last edited 06/02/09) and 22/01/09 (last edited (29/01/09).

                        Satsmo,

Is there any sign of an update for the EX5100 PVR to combat the record delay issue ?

by delay do you mean the pause when it starts to record and says will begin in 10seconds and seems like it freezes,or if u do a pvr epg record it usually misses the start of the program,if 2nd i just manually change the time to start 2 mins before and run 2 mins later, solves that issue

Could you technically use the external HD to flash the firmware? Or would that not work?
