    Fitting switch on TM600 HDD

As there is a problem with TM600's spinning down a internal HDD i decided to fit a switch onto the molex power lead. I got one off ebay for ?5 with all wires attached etc and basically its just a matter of making a hole in the TM600 case and connecting it up. However after fitting the switch, the HDD is still spinning with the switch even in the "off" position ! I can only assume that the metal cradle that the HDD is fastened into is earthed and therefore the switch ( which is breaking the neutral ) is actually making no difference to the HDD electrical connection.
After looking at the 4 wires which are on the molex plug there is a red ( 5v ) cable, and a yellow ( 12v ) cable and then there is 2 black ( neutral ) cables. If i was to alter the electrical connection to the switch that i switched a "live" cable, which would be the best to isolate ? Red or Yellow ? Does it make any difference which one i switch, or will switching the incorrect one do damage to the 500Gb HDD i have fitted ? Can anyone who has done this little job tell me which one they used ? Cheers

As it seems that i have started this thread with no advice, i have decided to experiment myself with the connections to the HDD.
I have been to maplins today i got myself a 10A double pole switch, with this switch i do actually switch the Red ( +5v )and Yellow ( +12v ) at the same time. But leaving all neutral connections intact. The switch cost ?3.29 and was fitted into the top of the case by drilling a 20mm hole. Here are a couple of pictures i took after the switch was fitted, and the rest is history ! p.s the HDD is now powered down and the whole receiver is much cooler, just pressing the switch enables the HDD and it can be used for recording etc

it is probably the best way to do the job too m8

double pole, single throw switch (dpst) , isolating both power rails at the same time and getting the task done too
