Help required from a novice

Hi,
New to this linux , Downloaded image to 500s no problem , getting connected ok - dowloaded softcams etc.

My sticking point is how to view certain channels using a softcam and keys. (Using CCcam 2.0.11)

Do certain softcams open only certain providers & vica versa.

Downloaded a key updater which it seems to do ok but still nothing opens.

I know you are not allowed to publish keys etc but any pointers would be very welcome.

motorised dish very large, been using sat for years , via a topfiled using dragon cams and the like and paid subs.
But new to Linux , would like to watch sats on 28 e,13e16e, 5 e and 30 west Hipo.
Please help.

What you can't open with the keys and CCcam 2.0.11 probably can only be opened with cardsharing. Only the FTA channels will be available to you on 28.2E.

Thnaks for your prompt answer.Withe regards to CCcam and keys, do i have to install keys manuelly ? And if so where do i find then or is there an auto program.

Google the Satankey bundle and you can install them manually by copying the files to var/keys and var/scce. You could also download and install the following plugin to your box install the keys.

Does the Keyupdater work with darkstar file and db500s clone.

Best way to find out is to try it. Nothing can really harm your box unless you install one of the Gemini images.
