R4 Upgrade - Don't know which firmware needed?

I am trying my best to help a colleage at work, she bought an R4 card, when it came it says Upgrade on it. I have bog standard r4 card and I'm using v.1.16 on my r4 cards, I tried to load this on to hers and it stuck with loading... on the top screen. I have tried various other programs r4III_v3.08 and 3.07 which I read about on a website. When I use 3.08 loading goes off but screen stays blank. When I use 3.07 loading stays on screen.

Does anyone have any help or advise for me, I would really appreciate it.

I have been using 1.18 but some of my newer games (e.g. Age of Empires Mythology) cant find the save file... :S
I checked on the compatability list and it says it needs 1.19u

It isnt on the R4 website though...

An R4 upgrade is Version III. The 3.08 or 3.07 should work. Try R4,R4DS????????*??-Revolution for DS-NDS,NDSL,???,?????????. Thats where i get mine.

.... as you are now probably aware clone cards are not usually interchangeable with one anothers firmware, but I think that link is the correct FW for the 'update' clones.

on the R4 there should be a web link try this link R4i SDHC Revolution for NDSi/NDSL/NDS and you must format the micro sd card before puting new Kernals on it so back up you files in case of mishap

I also have an r4, and up to yesterday, it worked fine. A friend uploaded the software for me but now it just turns completely black when i switch it on, other ds cartrages work but not the r4. I have no idea why or how to fix it??
Im trying to now upload the software on a different micro chip but I cant find any software that works....am i missing something? Please help :S

I'm having the same issue aswell, I have downloaded a load of diff software and still being stuck on 'Loading'..... Does anyone have another type of solution. I have an R4 III Upgrade with a 4gb SDHC card. I have tried v3.07, v3.08 and v3.12.... Still being stuck on loading... Any help would be greatfull folks. I have also formated the disk each time.... Its a pink DS if that helps in any way.

I'm going to try the 1.23 firmware on here and will get back. i, too, have been having real problems recently and hopr this latest firmware will solve it.

Folks, just to say i got it working, I used www.r4-dsl.net....... Loaded the 3.06 firmware... Alls dead on. I did do a quick format on the card first.
