Vu+ Duo Clone - problem, keeps getting stuck on 'starting' also getting green screen

Hi everyone, just bought a Vu+ Duo Clone satellite receiver. have had it for 2 days, and installed 500GB pipeline HDD which i removed from my Sky HD+ receiver.

Having trouble since i received it. Receiver keeps on freezing, majority of time when 'starting' is displayed on led display and sometime black hole GUI loading. also sometimes green screen appears.

Currently have the black hole version: Jan 8 212-vuplus_experimental Image: BlackHole1.7.0 running.

    Any help much appreciated. Thank-You.

note it says version 2 on box. TY

trying another usb which i previously successfully used on vu solo, already 4-5 on 'reading usb'. light of usb blinking, so hopefully working.

            .......................update

still not ****ing working!!! still stuck on reading usb, bleeding thing still blinking. disconnected the hard drive and tried flashing, same problem, not flashing.

            whats going on, anyone?

You will have to start from beginning and make sure you don't have usb or anything else when starting flash. Take your time go through it slowly and be patient.

Should have read anything else connected................

You have bh 1.7.0 as screen image shows so you have kernel 3.1.1. All you need is to format usb to fat32 get duo image unzip or extract duo image file load it to usb place insert usb with no others connected and switch box on and follow updating procedure. Don't install 1.7.6 as you can't yet as far as i'm aware. This applies to the higher versions of vix above build 155 as well.

i understand that part, but how long should this process take. if im lucky 1 out of 100 times i get to loading screen. been messing around with box for at least 8 hours yesterday.

i done this at leat 30*, just hangs on usb reading for 15+ minutes, that surely cannot be right.

                        this is why im stuck.

originally it had bh 1.7.0, but it kept on getting stuck on 'starting' so i decided to change image to bh 1.7.5, took about 30-40 attempts for it to flash. same thing happened again, stuck at 'starting' then tried to flash vix-2.4 155. but i would not flash.

im at a loss, do not know what to do, 9pm to 5am trying to sort problem out, had to give up.

                              Few things here:

Try a different USB pen drive, one which is 4gb or less (I use kingston)
Try vix 2.3 build 204 ( vix 2.4 build 155 or lower should work and flash also)
Make sure there is no loose connection or the fan does not touch any inside components (dont mess to much inside as it can cause other issues!)
Make sure you reboot the device using the power cut at the back and not just via standby mode

                              Good luck!
