ive put a sata hdd into my duo,its formatted to fat32 but keep getting this annoying fault flash on the screen

the filesystem on your timeshift-device does not support hardlinks.
make sure it is formatted in ext2 or ext3!

it records without any problems and timeshifts so dont know why it keeps popping up almost every time i use a function on the box.
ive tried formatting in ext2 or ext3 as per instruction on duo but this brings more error messages.
has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it.
