    Problem...Vu Uno...Red light on receiver....nothing else

Accidently updated my Uno with a duo cfe update file.
Box is now unresponsive and just a red light on the front.
Need a bit of advice...can i serial flash an .nfi file image?
If so what tool do i use to flash it with?
Doesnt respond to usb flash on any of the ports so serial is the only option I think.
    Any help appreciated.

sadly i think you now have a dead receiver on your hands. The bootloader is pretty much the only way you can kill one of these and loading the wrong one onto a receiver is a surefire way to creating a nice shiny paper weight.

at the moment there is no way to reverse this, there was talk of a jig coming out but that was months ago and still no sign.

Read elsewhere that replacing the C807 capacitor does the trick but thats for the Duo...I've the Uno??
Nothing responding,no fan, ethernet port....just the red light of death
Its so easy to make a door stop with these receivers.....I just wanted to update my image to avail of the wifi option on BH 1.7.2.
Gonna have to **** it in the bin now......what a disaster!!
Thanks for the help anyway lads.

it's nothing to do with a capacitor, you albeit accidentally flashed the wrong bootloader to the receiver. The Uno has never had a bootloader update. i stand by what i said not much can kill one of these receivers but screwing up a bootloader can and it's the same for any receiver not just Vu.

Try contacting your seller maybe VU themselves can do something with it.

Yeah tis a right balls, youd think with the tech with the Vu receivers that it would recognise a dodgy cfe and reject the update?
At least it was my own box thats bricked, banged in an old DM600 for a while.
Still have the Duo in the main room but that Uno was every bit as good as the Duo......pity.
No use crying over spilt milk......nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Its all a learning curve and believe me I'll think twice about doing it again.
                            When's the Dou2 out

i read someone on anouther forum had a similar problem
with a genuine duo and he kept trying to flash other
images with the usb stick and it would'nt for most he tried
then a pli image flashed and cleared the problem
