EUROVOX EX 5000 PVR and Midnight

    Hi everyone.

Does the EUROVOX EX 5000 PVR turn itself off to update channels or something?

I ask because mine seems to sometimes at midnight. It goes into standby. It seems like it is doing it to update.

So is there a setting that I need to change or is it a fault with the box?

I noticed the same at midnight yesterday with my EX5000 which switched to standby, this explains why when I used the PVR mode to record the F1 in Singapore last year I got nothing.

I am running the latest firware version so not sure what can be done but this is a problem if you are looking to record things via the timer after mid night.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed by a future firmware upgrade?

            Thanks.

There appears to be no definitive answer for this... I've got the same issue on my 5100... No one seems to know....

                The box is crap.

But to overcome the midnight switching off, you can set the timer to wake up daily at one minute past midnight .

Why dont you all send the boxes back if your having this problem, I did have the same issue but I have already explained how to cure it if it doesn't work return it for a replacement.

I would gladly send mine back but the supplier Cable Daddy .co.uk will not respond to emails or answer his mobile. So the Con box is coupled with a Conman as well.

Unlucky, take the HDD out and leave it out and see if it does it again at midnight tomorrow.

Good work as usual HiTeck, HDD out and the box did not turn off at mid night.

How do we over come this problem of the the box turning off after midnight with the HDD in?

Put it back in now and see if it does the same at midnight.

I have the 5000 box and had seven recordings which I played back o.k. Today they have all disappeared as if someone has come in overnight and erased them all. How can this happen? What can I do? Should I send the box back?

Put my hard drive back in last night and my EX5000 turned off at midnight so we can narrow the problem down to the hard drive.

The hard drive that I am using is a western digital 120gb

                              Thanks.
