Switch to sat

Hi guys
Im thinking of switching from cable to sky.How do i go about getting free sat channels. What would i need to do and what equiptment do i need.I already have a digital dish installed from sky so can i just buy a reciever and watch all channels ? Please excuse me as im a noob when it comes to sat tv.

if the dish you have is a sky mini dish it should be pointed at astra 2 and if there's a cable in the house from it, you just need a cheap sat receiver, but unless you subscribe to sky you will only get the free to air channels to open. these are the freesat chns if your tv is one of the new
sets with freesat [not freeview] built in you dont need a sat receiver the dish connects to the tv

I had sky tv installed last year but switched to vm . I dont have a sub with them at the moment.The dish has not been moved since sky installed sky digital at my house. Is there a way to recieve all channels for free or with a minimum package.

Nope. Unlike cable the encryption is not hacked..the only way is sub or cardshare, google is your friend for cardshare
