    technomate 5400ci+usb need help please

Hi everyone, I am new to this and seem silly but can anyone help me to point me in the right direction....
I have a tm5400ci+usb and fixed disch to hotbird....I would like "to patch" my receiver so I can watch RAI seca scrambled channels.I tried to download the patch(5400ci_....._20090114.zip), unzip on my computer but the computer is telling me that is an invalid zip file?
    What I am doing wrong?
    many thanks

are you sure you have got the file out of the folder before you
transfered it to the memory stick for loading ?
have you used this memory stick before and did the patch load?
if you are sure about the above are you loading the receiver this way?
this is how you load the patch and softcam with a memory stick
from the forum first download the correct patch for your receiver, and then open the zipped folder and remove the patch from the folder ready to transfer the patch onto your usb memory stick. next insert your usb memory stick in the usb port under the front flap and then turn the receiver on ready to load the patch.then on your remote press menu>usb and go to data transfer and click>ok now you will see a panel with the patch on it, it will highlight, [for patching] just press ok again then patch will load and when it gets to 100% and has loaded, and the receiver has re-booted [turned off and on again] and the channel opens, remove your usb memory stick. you have now loaded the patch and your channels will now open open **************************************************
you also load softcams/channel lists/official software etc:in exactly the same way by selecting the item you want to load. after loading the softcam the receiver does'nt re-boot

try this little trick to clear the stick, first put the stick in your
computer and deleate all the files from it, then put it in the
receiver usb port and turn on,next click menu>usb and go to data transfer>ok now you will see the file list panel that should be empty next press the green button upload key [now you see a key file on the panel] something like this [ie:20090223-110034.key] this is the key file that is aready on your receiver. next exit the menu and put the stick back in your computer and transfer the latest softcam to the stick then put it back in the receiver go back to data transfer>ok then on the file list panel you should see the file from your receiver and the tmsoftcam.key useing your chn buttons on the remote scroll down to the tmsofrcam.key and click>ok and it will load now you channels should open after this deleate the files from your memory stick in your computer usb port, from now on the stick should work as normal, just deleate all files when they have been used.

it does look like a receiver software glitch mate and if you know how to factory reset. i would do it to clear the receiver software off it, this will return the receiver as it was when it left the factory, before you factory re-set keep a note of your motor long/lat settings and i always leave the dish on thor1w when doing a factory re-set, then you can load the software and set the long/lat in the motor settings
re-set all the sats and receiver settings and then rescan the sats and chnsagain, this will have to done because you cant get a copy of your chn list if the receiver wont recognise the memory stick. and as you say the memory stick has to be formated to fat32 and yours must be set to fat32 as it worked earlier i use a memory stick from aldi
and i have one from tesco both are 4gb sticks but any that are big enough to hold the patch will be ok,
