DM500 - Images

Hi,

New to this would like to know which images are available and what are the pros & cons of each. Which one is regarded as best and why. I believe I have a original DB500s coming in the post, if it turns out to be a clone again what should I be using on that.

if you buy a original DB500s and get a clone i would send it back why buy a bmw and get a mini for same price now for img there are lots to install everyone has taste try them out and see what is best for you also get a img that has key pannel that you press to keep keys updated and that are up to date
Nabilosat is a good img to start with

Pli was my favourite for ease of use than changed to Nabilosat because of all of its plugins than changed to Pli again because of problems getting Digitv and S*y UK.

for streaming especially pli is great and mounting etc

Really user friendly aswell also you'll find it very hard to get an original 500 as there are mainly clones.

A 500 plus maybe but not a 500

I definitely agree with pli, very stable, easy to use image. But different strokes for different folks, try a few and see what you like. That is the beauty of DB!(don't try a gemini image if your not sure if you have a clone--it will brick a clone)

Thanks for all the replies so far. I recieved my dreambox tried the bomb checker no complaints so can I assume its an original?

Is the gemini image any good? Why did they include a bomb for clones?

Are clone machines any good?

There have been no genuine dm500 made for over 18 months so if you have got dm500 than it is probably a clone. The clone dm500 are fine but they do not work well with the gemini image. I have not used a gemini image for about 12 months but when I did use I found it to be pretty effective.

I forgot to say I bought it second hand from ebay. As I said clone bomb checker program did not complian so is it an original?

Just stay away from gemini just to be safe as I seriously doubt its an original.

Try a few and see what you prefer.
