Problems with a sagem dbox thing

Hey all, im new here and this forum looks brill.

I have a question about a sagem dbox what the father in law has asked me to have alook at it but i havent a clue about them. My question is when you switch it on it says commando on the box and on screen through the television it says kernal loading and thats it nothing else happens, could this to do be a software issue or something. If some one could put me in the right direction or help me out that will be brilliant. Many thanks

    Ryan

It looks like the image on the box has somehow been corrupted. You need to flash it with a new image.

I flashed quite a few boxes in the dim & distant past. I always used a program called Image flashing assistant (IFA).

From memory, a lot of users whose boxes got stuck on "Loading Kernel" had to use IFA to reflash their boxes, using both ethernet & null modem cables. No other method would work.
