No expert here but sounds like I have been having the same issue.
reading through this site it appears to be caused by a corrupt secondary bootloader.
I downloaded the lastest firmware from the dreambox site and installed and now the box is working again. I have submitted a thread to try and understand if this is an image issue and were I might have been going wrong.
Not much help I know but hopefully will restore your box to an as found working condition.
