Anyone familiar with this receiver, a friend ordered a tm5402, and was sent this as tm was out of stock instead.

I've never heard of them anyway.

i have one here and i find it excellent with what has got to be the best tuner in any stb i have ever owned with some channels locking with only 2.5db of signal above threshold. the box operates similar to the tm5402hd and opens the same channels via patch. the only downside is the support forum is russian. i have all the current versions of 3rd party firmware(thanks @digi247) here and just ask ill put the latest one in the downloads section for you,regards mdt

Wrong forum name on the wrong forum LOL, anyway this should help latest DRHD F15 firmware and Smart Module for the you know what side of things.

Yes there is different processor and different firmware. which i will now upload for you:

its a cut down version with no 3rd party firmware as yet(i think).. my m8 knows all about these boxs so he will give you the lowdown on them more than i can as ive only owned my less than 2 weeks,regards mdt
