    Hi,

    do not make it complicated!
Once you have created your new boot logo, copy it in /var/boot
    and replace existing "bild" file.
For example, boot logo for Sif Team 1.9.3 c is /var/boot/bild3

    Hope this will help!

      camomille...
I didn't find the '/var/boot' folder, maybe 'cause I'm using a different image than Sif Team, mine is Gemini 4.6, besides I already found the path as I said before, and opened the 'bild' file into my PC, I mad sure that it is the current boot logo.... but still can't change it with my new logo, it can't be renamed, removed, written over nor chmod (currently 777)
      Please help...

OpenDream gives you an easy tool to Transfer Bootlogo and Media Logos, to / from your Dreambox.

        Supports DM7000s and DM7020.
(Think it will work for DM500 and DM56xx regarding Media Logos.. )

Remember that your DB must run in Multi-Boot to be able to use the Bootlogo feature.

        * News in V.1.01 *

        - Verify Reboot of Dreambox option
        - Bugfix in transfere of files
        - Added auto-check for new releases

        Code:

        - Added color selection to Custom Watermark
        - Changed setup in Language file
        - Some minor bugfix

I would rename your new bootlogo file to newbild (tha'ts very important for Flash Images, otherwise it won't work) FTP it to /tmp and Chmod 755 and then use the Plugin EasyLogo 1.2 (readily availbale in Gemini Plugins list) to replace your existing Logo. Then just reboot your Box and everything should be OK. Cheers to all.

OpenDream Logo Tool does not do anything for transfering Boot Logo image to the DM500. The reason I stopped using the Digital-Kaos Image is because EasyLogo didnt work with this (even though it says it is successful, it isnt). So I changed my OS Image to Gemini 4.60,.. Works a treat!!

DK have their logo locked down some how in the system structure of Lunux.

I had the same problem with my Dreambox with Gemini image, especially finding the image in root.

The tool set for download above resolves the matter.

                    a.

dm500 MAY be old, but its perfectly useable.
why tell people to upgrade when theres no need?
