    Eurovox EX5100 PVR, how good

Hi, my sisters m8 is after a pvr cable box. personally i have a dreambox 600c and quite like it. I guess she will just be using her box to view channels and record. As she will be ordering it( i will sort the software & harddrive ) and it will be her responsibility to send it back if anything goes wrong in the guarantee period i was thinking of the eurovox ex5000 pvr as it can be bought in the UK. Are they ok and pretty simple to use the functions to record etc

I endorse what andy4 has said above, the box itself works perfectly, but there does seem to have been quite a lot of members having problems with hard drives,or there were at first maybe they have it sorted now ? if recording is a priority I would choose something else....

          WHICH BOX

hi all i bought a ex5000 pvr with the rec 120g hd and had nothing but hassle with it, recordings going missing the box turning itself off at midnight etc i offloaded it to a mate who wanted a box only not a pvr i kept the hard drive and bought a ex5100 pvr and installed the original hd and from minute one had no probs at all so in my opinion dont touch the ex5000 as a pvr cos looking at everybody else who has had probs it seems mainly to be the ex5000 that plays up when used as a pvr hope this helps
